Almost Friday is a four piece rock band from Salem, Oregon who formed in October 2007. Three of Almost Friday’s four members are currently serving in or are retired from the Oregon Army National Guard. They are led by Sergeant Major (SGM) Rod Galloway on vocals and lead guitar. Steve Cannon on guitar/backing vocals, Master Sergeant (MSG) Dave Noffsinger on bass and retired Sergeant Major (SGM) Chuck Kovitch completes the line up on drums. All four members are long time friends devoted to the artistic success of the band's sound by writing all of their original music. The band takes great pride in producing songs that have stimulating hooks, hypnotic melodies and rousing beats that stir the listener's emotions. Almost Friday has branded a strong reputation with their energetic "Main Street Rock" original music and dynamic live stage shows.
Almost Friday recorded and co-produced their debut self titled album released in April 2009, recorded and produced their second album "A New Beginning” released in May 2010 and their third album “Standing Against Your Fears” released in December 2011 and recorded and co-produced their fourth album “Encore” (consisting of re-recorded and re-released tracks) released in January 2012. They released two CD singles for On Point for the Nation released in August 2008 and The Home Lines released in March 2010, four music videos (On Point for the Nation, Destruction, The Home Lines, Bad Karma) and have had numerous regional performances including one with the legendary Jerry Naylor and Rockabilly Legends.
With years of individual music experience brought to the band by each member, it is clear that several artists have influenced them including Johnny Cash, Social Distortion, The Ramones, Green Day, Rush, The White Stripes and a wide range of other artists.
Although there have been comparisons to Social Distortion, Green Day and Incubus, Almost Friday prides themselves on their ability to produce their own sound and their own brand of Main Street Rock. Almost Friday will continue working to reach a larger audience with the goal of spanning each and every generation with their signature sound.
